Christian Education
Under the Strengthening Committee, the Christian Education department guides a vibrant selection of Sunday School classes for members and visitors of all ages.
At First
Presbyterian Church, we consider Christian Education to be of
great importance. Christian Education passes along the
traditions of the faith, the lessons of the Bible and offers a
nurturing environment for young and old alike to become better
Christians and better citizens.
Our Sunday
School classes offer diverse classes for infants, toddlers,
youth, teens, young adults and maturing adults. Each “school
year” begins with Rally
Day in September when we commission the teachers for the
year and rededicate the principles of Sunday School; to further
exploring the teachings of Jesus Christ.
As part of
the extended Christian Education program, several of our young
people attend summer classes and camps at Makemie Woods in
