Youth Programs and Activities
First Pres is happy and grateful to support two youth ministries; we have a middle and senior high group as well as a "junior" group for 7 - 10 year olds. Both youth groups emphasize service and fellowship, with the older youth ministering at Oasis and visitation while the younger group concentrates on learning discipleship. Both serve the church by leading in worship.
The groups gather on the fourth Sundays of each month after worship, sharing lunch before separating into our two groups.
If you are interested in supporting this ministry as an adult (preparing lunch or as an assistant for one Sunday), or if your child is interested in joining us, please call Pastor Kerry at 397-3622 or email her Pastor@FPCPorts.org.
The Middle and High School Youth have planned the following activities for 2010:

A great big THANK YOU!! to the youth who served breakfast to the homeless at the Oasis soup kitchen on Monday, July 19, and to the adults who helped them. On a warm summer morning, we served casserole, biscuits, bananas, cereal, juice and coffee to 98 hungry folks. Turning out at 6 am to help were Shannon Brown, Errin McRary, and Matthew McRary, assisted by the faithful Duff Porter, Laura McRary, Jennifer Patgorski, and Pat Sparks. Thank you also to those who were willing and volunteered to serve, but were not needed this month: Elizabeth Fitzwater & son Graham, and Veronica Curry George & daughters Keely & Amber. There will be many more chances to help with this ministry. Thank you, all!
